Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly. Anyway, thanks for posting this info.Larry Woodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12024182801689417267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5617745107547433863.post-24435917934997419072022-08-13T23:42:05.920-05:002022-08-13T23:42:05.920-05:00According to the Neosho Daily News August 1914, a ...According to the Neosho Daily News August 1914, a letter was received that Lane Britton died on March 10, 1914 in Los Angeles, CA.Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17794195430042793472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5617745107547433863.post-77999866530513385322015-07-10T22:05:45.909-05:002015-07-10T22:05:45.909-05:00I can understand that the family history might not...I can understand that the family history might not mention Lane's notorious past, but he definitely had such a past. There's a lot more to the story than my brief outline in my original blog post, but I covered most of the main highlights. And we're definitely talking about the same Lane Britton, although I think the 1884 date you have for his marriage to Mary Ellen Rawles might be off by a year or so. I think they were already married in 1883, when Lane was city marshal of Blende City and when he killed the two deputy lawmen sent out to arrest him. If you have a Bible record or marriage license that shows the marriage date as 1884, then, of course, I'm wrong, but lacking such primary documentation, the evidence points to a slightly earlier date than 1884.Larry Woodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12024182801689417267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5617745107547433863.post-35185047012764890842015-06-20T12:34:57.798-05:002015-06-20T12:34:57.798-05:00Hi,
